Welcome to the Breast Asymmetry Correction Page. Breast asymmetry refers to differences in shape or size of one breast compared to the opposite breast and is not an uncommon occurrence in women. Poland's syndrome is a condition where one breast may not develop at all and results in extreme breast asymmetry. Various techniques can be used to achieve better symmetry including augmentation, reduction, mastopexy, and/or tissue expansion or tissue transfer. Usually treated with one operation but may need staged procedures (multiple surgeries). Usually outpatient procedure. Can be performed on patients of any age. Recovery depends on type of procedures performed (see the other breast procedure pages on our web site).
