Otoplasty

Otoplasty, or ear reshaping/pinning, is surgery performed to reduce prominant ears.

  • Typically performed on children (over age 5), but can be performed on adults too.
  • Incisions hidden behind ears
  • Results are permanant
  • Outpatient procedure
  • Requires general anesthsia for small children, but only local anesthesia for older children/adults
  • Expect a couple of days out of school or work
  • Expect full recovery in one month
