Otoplasty
Otoplasty, or ear reshaping/pinning, is surgery performed to reduce prominant ears.
- Typically performed on children (over age 5), but can be performed on adults too.
- Incisions hidden behind ears
- Results are permanant
- Outpatient procedure
- Requires general anesthsia for small children, but only local anesthesia for older children/adults
- Expect a couple of days out of school or work
- Expect full recovery in one month
