Neck Lift (Cervicoplasty)
The neck is a common area of concern for many as they age. In some cases, the neck may have excessive fat under the chin. In other cases, the neck skin may be loose and saggy and have a ”turkey gobbler” (as patients often refer to it) appearance. Liposuction alone may be used to remove excess fatty tissue, provided that the overall skin quality is good. Cervicoplasty, or surgical removal of the excess skin and muscle tightening, is necessary if the skin quality is suboptimal and the neck too loose.
- Outpatient procedure.
- Usually performed under general anethesia, but not necessary for lipo only.
- Scars hidden behind ears and under chin for traditional approach, but simpler direct approach leaves scar in front of neck.
- 2 weeks down time at most.
