Tattoo Removal

Remorse sometimes follows the acquisition of tattoos.  While no easy solutions exist for tattoo removal, surgical excision is one option.  Large tattoos are best treated with laser which usually requires multiple sessions.  Excision of tattoos can be performed for smaller ones and often takes only one treatment.  In either case, there usually is some permanent scarring, but generally it is less noticeable than the original tattoo.  Usually excision can be performed in the office under local anesthesia.  Excision of large tattoos can be performed, but may require skin grafting or tissue rearrangement to close the wound.
